Hi guys!! Haven’t done this in a while, but here I am, back at it! I’ll try not to be all “so sorry for not posting anything lately, my schedule is messed up”, but we’ll see where this post takes me.Continue reading
Holy shit, I’m back for the hundredth time! And with a good and fresh, new year ahead, it’s time for some reflection. I can’t promise that this won’t be a tiny bit sappy, but sometimes, you just gotta do it. Let’s get into it, shall we?
2018, has by far been the most challenging year yet. School kicked my ass the last few months, I learnt a lot about people and trust, and I learnt a lot about myself, as cheesy as it sounds. I’ve had to make hard decisions, which had even harder consequences, but that’s life I guess. It has made me grow.
I’ve hurt people this year, and I realize that my choices are sometimes selfish. I’ve made many empty promises to people, and even to this blog (my schedule is a huuuge mess). But I’ve also learnt that I have to put my health and happiness first sometimes.
However, I deeply apologize to anyone I might have hurt.
This year, I have been at the bottom. I have been mentally and physically beaten down and broken. I love what I do, the school I go to, and the people that surround me. However, school has really beaten the crap out of me for the past 4 months. I was at that point of the semester, in which I cried because of not being able to find my post-it notes. Yes, it was that bad. Luckily though, I truly have the most amazing friends in the world who pick each other up when we’re all at the bottom. I love them with all of my heart<33
All the bad things aside, this has also been a wonderful year in many ways! I got to jump off a cliff in Turkey and paraglide, play a concert alongside one of my best friends in class, raise 5000kr for the kids in Zambia, travel to UK for a beautiful wedding! My baby nephew was born (the cutest baby in the world btw), I got to play a gig in the city, and also play in church after a long time. I got to see the Harry Potter film concert with my good friend! I have written over 400 poems, half of them are not even published on my page. I got to collaborate on a poem with an Internet friend from Italy, and talk to a lot of creative souls from all over the world. I wrote my first spoken word piece, which has not yet been performed (crossing my fingers for it to be heard in 2019), and I have written and written and written. I fell in and out of love with the world, but I am learning to love it once more. So, this year hasn’t been completely shit either. A mix of things, if you will.
I rarely keep up with my resolutions, and those of you who have read for some time, you know that this blog is proof of how I can’t keep up with anything I promise. However, I want to promise myself some things. And you have my full consent to scold me, if I break these promises.
- I promise myself to put my health and happiness first.
- I promise to try and get more sleep (so that my friends won’t yell at me all the time).
- I promise to keep writing, no matter what happens.
- I promise not to compare myself to anyone too much.
- I promise to raise others up, instead of tearing them down.
- I promise to try and keep my promises.
- And maybe exercise once in a while?
Well, it’s been a heck of a year, and I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store. Thank you for supporting this blog, yet another year. I love you and appreciate you all so much! 2019, will hopefully be the year of more content. And also, if you think I’m inactive here, it’s because I’m much more active writing poetry on my Instagram page @abigblurpoetry, so check that out<33
Until next time,
create & love only.
Hi! Long time, no see. Again, I’m so sorry for not posting anything recently, and also for apologizing over and over again. Anyways, this is going to be about an incident that happened some days ago, and I just have a lot on my chest that I need to get out.
Hey guys! Welcome back to the blog!! It’s been a while, haven’t it?
Welcome back! If you haven’t been here before, my name is Anjali and I’m a music student at Lillestrøm high school. This week, I’m doing a five-part series in which I take you through my days as a music student, and tell you a little bit about how it works. If you haven’t read the two previous posts I’ve done this week, I’ll link them below! Let’s dive into Wednesday!
